Christmas is always a busy time of year, and this year was no exception. My team are extremely supportive and work as and when required, some working every day over the festive period, putting the hours in to get the job done, and I’m very grateful for their support.
As a thank you, Jo and I host a staff party and this year was in the early part of January on a wet and windy Friday night, we all started off at Herberts Yard for a meet and greet and then a short walk to Paprikas Indian restaurant, Longbridge. With 15 hungry staff and an endless supply of alcohol (it’s a bring your own eatery, so I parked my van up, stocked up with their favourite tipple)
It’s a great night out and it gives the staff an opportunity to let their hair down and chat with their colleagues outside their normal working environment. By about 8pm I thought the evening was coming to an end when someone suggested karaoke at the Greenland’s and before we knew it, we were taking it in turns to sing our hearts out on the dancefloor, I’m not too worried any of them are going to give up their day job sometime soon.
We all made it home safely, and on reflection, it does remind me what a great team we have at the hotel, and it’s an absolute honour to be hosting such events, roll on the summer barbecue.
